These were the first ones I did using this technique so I'm not sure if I shaded first and then worked with the black ink or the other way around, no pencil at all though. Now I start with the shading until I have the whole body and then outline it with the black brushpen. After that, I work some more with the shadows to push my darks. Thanks Josh.

I'm going to give it a try. I was doing ink sketches and then painting them with heavily terpentined oil paint. These were smal sketchbook size drawings.
