Fa uns mesos l’Stygryt va contactar amb mi per presentar un projecte de còmic al mercat francés, John Tornado. Vaig trobar tant la proposta com el còmic interessants i vaig començar a fer algún disseny fa temps, però entre pitos i flautes no he pogut avançar gaire. M’he proposat acabar les mostres del projecte abans del festival d’Angoulême (finals de gener), no perquè hi hagi d’anar, que ja m’agradaria, sino perquè em sembla una data raonable i el festival em serveix d’excusa.
Deixo un parell d’esbossos inicials del John, no sé si evolucionarà gaire fins arribar al disseny definitiu, de moment m’he centrat amb la cara:

You know, I’m really impressed by your work. Of course it’s good, but that’s not the reason. It’s because of why it’s good. It’s good because your drawings have character. You can look at them and feel as if you are really looking at someone from real life. Take this guy for example; he was created in your head, but looking at the sketch, I feel like there’s no doubt this guy is real, and that he posed for your sketeches. Bravo. Very well done.
I’m very happy to read that you can find life in these drawings, not an easy thing to achieve for sure. I still have to refine a lot this character, the main one.
